Role overview

As a Vault Team Member you will be responsible for the day-to-day processing, monitoring, reporting, and verifying of all inbound and outbound precious metals shipments. This role requires accuracy, speed, and the utmost integrity.

Responsibilities & Expectations 

Inbound Receiving & Inventory Putaway

  • Accept inbound shipments of precious metals for MTB
  • Check-in, weigh (if applicable), and audit shipment against documents provided by the shipper or generated by the Vault Manager; match pre-advised inventory detail to physical inventory; complete necessary, audit-compliant paperwork for incoming shipments
  • Accurately put away inbound product to corresponding vault location
  • Systemically complete inbound purchases in internal systems as directed by Accounting or Traders

Pick/Pack & Fulfillment

  • Locate, pick, and prepare shipments of precious metal to be sent out of the facility
  • Physically distribute precious metals to conform to customer requests and/or exchange warrants
  • Complete audits of prepared shipments
  • Pack precious metals according to the Packing Directive as outlined by the Vault Manager
  • Move CME product as directed by the Vault Manager
  • Move Storage Clients’ product as directed by the Vault Manager

Outbound Processing & Shipping

  • Generate shipping labels according to the packing process
    • Prepare documentation for international shipments
    • Complete necessary, audit-compliant paperwork for outgoing shipment
  • Schedule pick-ups with predetermined carrier base for outbound shipments
  • Hand-over package to the carrier and receive sign-off
  • Add all relevant data (i.e. tracking number, carrier) and complete shipments in internal systems
  • Transfer inventory for consignment orders in internal systems.

Inventory Control

  • Perform audits on existing inventory to ensure vault integrity
  • Generate and reconcile daily Inventory Snapshot report
  • Audit existing Inventory via daily cycle counts
  • Audit outbound Shipments


  • Coordinate and work closely with Operations, Logistics, Traders, and Accounting, as required
  • Assist with projects as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

Required skills and experience

The minimum requirements to perform this job are, including any physical requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 years of shipping and receiving experience and/or related industry experience processing shipments/working in a fast-paced logistics environment
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds on a consistent basis throughout the assigned workday
  • Experience providing efficient and accurate customer services for import/export customers
  • Experience in banking handling currency or working in an environment where high-value liability is managed/stored
  • Excellent work history of integrity, dependability, cooperation, and teamwork
  • Works well under pressure; maintains composure and thinks clearly
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented
  • Clean Professional appearance, aptitude, and demeanor
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as may be required to meet business demands
